New Hollow
Nestled along the mountainside, New Hollow is a charming little town surrounded by natural beauty. Life moves at a slower pace here, where neighbors know one another and tales of folklore and mysterious legends have been passed down for generations.
Beyond its quiet streets, the New Hollow River winds its way through dense forests and rocky passages before plunging over a magnificent waterfall into the ocean below. Along its journey, rushing rapids, hidden currents, and steep cliffs make the surrounding landscape as dangerous as it is beautiful.
Adding to the town’s mysterious atmosphere is the unpredictable mountain weather. Sunny afternoons can quickly give way to chilly evenings, misty mornings, and sudden changes in the mountain air.
Yet even with its rugged surroundings and unpredictable weather, New Hollow holds a secret far more unusual. Hidden away in the quiet corners of United Mattress lives Sheldon the Sleep Monster, along with his best friend, Digs the cat.
And while life in New Hollow carries on as usual, the townspeople have no idea what extraordinary mystery lies right under their noses.
Meet Sheldon. Yes, he’s a monster—but a most unusual one, because he’s the only monster who would rather be on a bed, than under one.
For nearly his entire life, Sheldon has secretly lived inside a small-town mattress store—but not by choice. His arrival came about in the most unusual way, with a little help from two mattress delivery men named Phil and Max.
So how did Sheldon end up in a mattress store? What part did Phil and Max play in getting him there? And what happened to the family Sheldon still vaguely remembers? There’s only one way to find out. Read the book or listen to the audiobook and discover Sheldon’s story.
Meet Digs, the self-proclaimed king of the alley and Sheldon’s best friend. Digs belongs to Owen, the mattress store manager, but when the store closes for the night, he and Sheldon have a world all their own. And unlike everyone else, Digs knows the secret hiding inside the mattress store.
How did a cat become best friends with a monster? How long can Digs help keep Sheldon hidden? And what happens when Sheldon’s curiosity takes him beyond the showroom? Read the book or listen to the audiobook and find out.
Meet Owen, the proud manager of United Mattress and owner of Digs the cat. Owen likes everything in his store to be just right—but lately, strange things have been happening after closing time, and Owen is beginning to wonder if he and Digs are really alone.
What’s happening inside Owen’s mattress store when the lights go out? And what will he do if he discovers the secret that’s been hiding right under his nose?
Get the answers when you read or listen to the sleep monster story.
Meet Phil and Max, the delivery men of United Mattress and the story’s very own odd couple. Their mismatched personalities and constant back-and-forth bring plenty of humor to the adventure—but don’t underestimate them. These two play a vital role in Sheldon’s story, beginning with one very unusual mattress pickup.
What exactly did Phil and Max bring back to the store that day? And how could one ordinary delivery change Sheldon’s life forever? Discover that and more in the book and audiobook.
